General Purpose
This role is responsible for designing and executing best-in-class international logistics strategies for finished goods, raw and packaging materials, spare parts, machinery, and production lines, driving operational excellence, cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and superior service delivery across international markets.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
1. Global Logistics Strategy
Drive international logistics strategy to support business growth, ensuring effective management of both import and export operations across all markets.
Optimize transportation modes (air, sea, and land) to achieve the optimal balance between cost efficiency and transit time.
Lead cost optimization initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Establish and implement KPIs to monitor service performance, and freight efficiency, ensuring continuous improvement.
2. Temperature-Controlled Shipments Management
Ensure proper temperature-controlled management for imported and exported temperature-sensitive products, including finished goods and raw materials.
Monitor temperature-controlled shipments and storage conditions throughout the supply chain.
Minimize product damage and expiry risks during transit and storage.
3. Import/Export & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to Egyptian and international food safety regulations and standards for all imported and exported goods, including raw materials, packaging, finished products, and CAPEX.
Oversee export and import documentation and and customs clearance documents for all shipment types.
Ensure adherence to Incoterms, international trade agreements, and customs regulations.
Coordinate with quality assurance and cross-functional teams to meet destination country requirements for all product types.
4. Carriers & Shipping Management
Negotiate contracts and service agreements with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, truck contractors, to support both import and export shipments.
Develop and maintain contingency logistics partners and alternative shipping options to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
Ensure seamless execution of shipping operations across raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and CAPEX.
5. Import/Export Shipping, Transit Time & Inventory Optimization
Reduce transit lead times to preserve product shelf life.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of logistics, shipping, and supply chain operations, while meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Supplier & Customer Management to ensure timely delivery and seamless supply chain operations.6. Risk Management
Develop and implement proactive contingency strategies to mitigate risks from port congestion, customs delays and geopolitical events.
Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all shipments in accordance with applicable Incoterms.
Lead crisis response and resolution to resolve shipment delays, rejections, or disruptions while minimizing operational and financial impact.
Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CLTD) preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in international logistics, preferably within Food & Beverage or FMCG.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing international freight operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, freight management, and customs clearance.
- Expertise in cold chain logistics.
- Advanced negotiation and cost optimization skills.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong financial acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple international markets simultaneously.
